As the global push toward “green” construction strengthens, builders and managers are under increasing pressure to provide sustainable, more environmentally friendly, energy-efficient buildings. Integral to these high-performance buildings (as outlined by USGBC LEED principles, Green Globes and other green building rating systems) is good indoor air quality.
Managing a building for good indoor air quality (IAQ) is a difficult and complex job. Multiple factors affect IAQ, including ventilation, pollutant sources, housekeeping, building maintenance, environmental conditions and occupant activities. The good news, though, is that indoor air problems are preventable. They’re also solvable — although, in most cases, preventing them is less expensive than identifying them and resolving them after they occur.
Whether working to incorporate good IAQ into new construction or resolving issues in existing buildings, Air Quality Sciences (AQS) offers a full range of services. We are backed by two decades of experience, IAQ research and nationally recognized chemical and microbiological laboratories. Services offered include:
Green Building Practices – Helping building owners achieve GREENGUARD Building ConstructionSM or LEED Certifications; select healthy, sustainable materials; developing IAQ management plans; and conducting pre-occupancy clearance testing for achieving LEED credits.
-
Proactive, Healthy Design – Embracing sustainable building practices, taking steps to create and maintain good IAQ and mitigating risks related to mold, moisture and chemical exposure.
-
Investigation Services – Evaluating poor IAQ and building complaints; identifying mold, moisture, and pollutant contamination; performing air testing and building forensics; evaluating risks to building occupants; and providing solutions with corrective action recommendations.
-
Litigation and Insurance Claims Support – Providing expert opinion and investigation services in legal cases and property insurance claims.
