About AQS

At Air Quality Sciences, Inc. (AQS), indoor air quality (IAQ) is an integrated science: we study building systems, processes and materials — and the ways in which they impact the indoor environment. Founded in 1989, AQS has become the most respected name in indoor air quality testing; building studies and consulting; and product and building certification plan development. AQS serves the commercial market with a variety of services:
  • Chemical emissions and particulate release testing of consumer products, construction materials and interior furnishings for indoor environments (including regulatory/risk assessments and certification) and data assessment;
  • IAQ building investigations for occupant health complaints, water damaged materials, mold and chemical contamination, odor concerns and acceptance of newly constructed, renovated, or remediated buildings;
  • Green building services to help design and construction professionals earn the maximum number of indoor environmental credits for LEED, CHPS and other green building programs, and help them incorporate best IAQ practices in new and renovated buildings;
  • Analytical laboratory services for measuring volatile organic compounds (VOCs), formaldehyde and other aldehydes, semivolatile organic compounds (SVOCs), phthalates and microbial VOCs (MVOCs);
  • Consulting for the design and manufacture of low-emitting products; IAQ specifications for new construction; indoor air data review; toxicological assessments of consumer and construction materials; remediation plans for mold and chemically contaminated buildings and materials; and source control measures for the reduction of VOCs;
  • Product testing and consulting for GREENGUARD Certification programs, CA 1350 Specification, CHPS, Green Globes, LEED, Blue Angel and many other environmental eco-labels and green standards.

To evaluate and maintain acceptable air quality in indoor spaces, AQS works with and provides solutions to product manufacturers, building owners and managers, government agencies, architects and interior design professionals, school administrators, industrial hygienists and environmental consultants, to name a few.

The AQS broad-based approach enables the company to provide complete solutions and a single resource for achieving good IAQ.
