BC - Litigation and Claims Support

As a result of conducting hundreds of building investigations, Air Quality Sciences (AQS) is often called in as a second or third-party investigator when other organizations have been unable to identify the source of IAQ concerns in a building or have been unable to recommend an effective solution to mitigate the problem. The AQS multi-disciplinary staff of biologists, chemists, certified industrial hygienists, mycologists, mechanical and chemical engineers and public health professionals have the ability to identify sources of unusual or excessive contamination and undesirable odors. AQS can:

·         Work with plaintiff and defense attorneys and insurance claims representatives concerning indoor air quality-related cases

·         Provide expertise on moisture issues in materials and buildings; types of mold; factors fostering or restricting mold growth; and strengths, weaknesses of various samples

·         Perform pre-insurance claim condition assessments to assist in a property’s underwriting process

·         Evaluate buildings (as well as plans, specifications, drawings and submittals) to determine the cause of construction defects

·         Review and interpret documentation provided by other investigators and prepare reports concerning past investigations

·         Provide testimony in deposition and during legal trials regarding water damage, moisture, mold growth, volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and other chemical contaminations in buildings
