• Why Test?

  BIFMA Furniture Emissions testing provides a platform for manufacturers to address chemical emissions issues for office products and components. BIFMA testing is also used to demonstrate compliance with ANSI/BIFMA e3-2010 credits 7.6.1 and/or 7.6.2.

• What Are the Benefits of Testing?

• How Is the Test Performed?

  Product testing is completed following following M7.1-2011 to meet the criteria in X7.1-2011 in an ISO 17025 accredited product emissions laboratory. Chamber testing is designed to simulate a controlled, yet realistic environ­ment and to permit accurate and precise measurements of low-level chemical contami­nants emitting from products.

• What Data Will I Receive?

  You will receive a full report with a listing of all chemicals emitted from the products including building concentrations of total volatile organic compounds (TVOC), formaldehyde, total aldehydes, and 4 PCH for comparison to the BIFMA X.7.1 standard. Raw chamber concentrations and calculated emissions data are provided for all identified individual VOCs and aldehydes. Additional data, analysis, or custom assessments can also be provided.
